Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an Interim Management Accountant for a Public Sector organization in Portsmouth. This role, initially for 3 months, involves preparing management accounts, budgeting, and month-end processes. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in Further Education and strong Excel skills. The position is office-based with some flexibility for hybrid working.

Overview

Morgan Hunt are pleased to be working with a Public Sector organisation, based in Portsmouth, to recruit an Interim Management Accountant on an initial 3 month contract with potential to be extended.

Our client is looking for someone with experience of:

• Preparing a set of management accounts from a trial balance.
• Capital/Lease accounting.
• Budgeting and forecasting.
• Costings and evaluations of activity.
• Assist with month-end and year end processes.

The successful candidate will be:

• A qualified accountant with experience of working in a Further Education setting.
• Experienced and have strong knowledge of Further Education funding streams and the treatment in the accounts.
• An advanced user of excel.
• Available from mid-October at the latest.

This role will be based in the office 4-5 days a week however some hybrid working can be considered.
