Interim Deal Finance / Due Diligence Manager (\"Hands-On\")

Day rate : £400

Location : UK-based Remote (occasional travel to the Leamington Spa office)

Duration : Initial 3–6 months (extension likely)

Overview

SF are seeking an experienced, hands-on finance professional to support & assist the Finance Director for a UK-Based AI SaaS business across due diligence, financial analysis, and data-driven reporting.

This role is not a senior leadership or FD-level position. It is suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail, building analysis from the ground up, and acting as a trusted right-hand support to a Finance Director running multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver due diligence-style financial analysis across revenue, costs, and operational metrics
  • Build clear, structured DD reports and analysis packs based on FD briefs
  • Analyse revenue and cost data in multiple ways (e.g. by customer, product, time period, cost type)
  • Perform detailed wage cost and headcount analysis (monthly trends, variances, drivers)
  • Extract, cleanse and model data into clear Excel outputs suitable for decision-making
  • Support ad-hoc commercial and financial investigations as required
  • Act as a hands-on finance “doer”, not a reviewer
Systems & Process Improvement

A secondary but important part of the role will be improving how finance data flows through existing systems :

  • Working with Xero, Monday.com, and BambooHR
  • Identifying where data capture and reporting can be automated or simplified
  • Improving the quality, consistency and usability of management information
  • Creating repeatable templates and reporting structures
Background & Experience

This role will suit someone who :

  • Has worked in due diligence, transaction services, deal finance, or hands-on commercial finance
  • Has supported DD projects for SMEs, PE-backed, or growth businesses
  • Is used to working with smaller businesses or has worked in the AI SaaS sector
  • Is very strong in Excel and data analysis
  • Has experience working with Xero
  • Understands why DD questions are being asked and how to answer them through data
  • Is comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Is not looking for an FD / CFO role in the near term
