A local government authority in Stoke-on-Trent seeks an Intensive Support Worker for its Neurodivergent Team. The role involves direct community engagement to support Neurodivergent adults in developing skills and independence. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with neurodiversity and possess a passion for community-focused work. This permanent position offers a hybrid working model with opportunities for professional development. Interviews will be held in January 2026.
We now have one great opportunity to join the county’s high performing and citizen-focused Neurodivergent team, as part of the Health and Care Directorate at Staffordshire County Council.
The role of the Intensive Support Worker has been created specifically for the Neurodivergent Team, in order to develop the skills and abilities of Neurodivergent Adults within Staffordshire. This role provides practical hands-on direct community work.
You’ll work within a new bespoke team, set up specifically to work with Neurodivergent Adults to develop skills and independence and to lead fulfilling lives and with the Consultant Social Worker for Autism, who sits within the Neurodivergent Team, for bespoke advice guidance and support.
Location: This is a hybrid role, with community visits required on up to 5 days of the week, alongside regular office presence. There is the flexibility to work from home if desired, around the visits and office presence. This is a permanent role. The team is based between Stafford and Burton with a dual office base.
