Due to our new model exciting opportunities on Thorndon Ward at Brentwood Community Hospital, Mayfield Unit at Thurrock Community Hospital and Mountnessing Court at Billericay has arisen for dynamic, innovative and motivated full-time Integrated Care Assistants (ICA's).
All 3 of our Inpatient sites are located in Essex within easy reach of transport links and are a clean and comfortable environment with a friendly-family atmosphere which gets positively noticed by our patients and their relatives. The hospitals all have pleasant garden eating areas and ample free parking spaces.
The role involves supporting the Inpatient nurses to provide a high standard of nursing for rehabilitation patients. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and will develop and undertake a range of delegated tasks independently. They will also assume responsibility for their workload ensuring that they adhere to North East London Foundation Trusts policies and Local policies.

You will administer holistic care to patients in the rehabilitation inpatient setting, identifying and reporting any changes in patient care needs to the nursing staff. The post holder will work as a member of the integrated health and social care team to ensure high quality nursing service provision.
You will demonstrate flexibility, good communication skills, and ability to work as a team member as well as using your own initiative. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your clinical skills. Post holders must have an NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care / Care certificate and demonstrate a commitment to further learning and development.

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,303 and a maximum payment of £2,198).

Please note: When calculating the basic salary for sponsorship, HCAS (High Cost Area Supplement) is not included for non‑registered roles. This ensures fairness and consistency within our organisation, as some of our sites fall under inner HCAS, while others are classified as outer HCAS, or none.
Due to government threshold guidelines the trust is unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
