A UK-based educational institution is seeking a candidate to provide practical instruction and technical support in horticultural subjects. The role focuses on maintaining resources, preparing materials, and assisting students to develop essential skills for their qualification. The ideal candidate must have GCSEs in English and Mathematics and experience in delivering classes. This position is full-time and requires a flexible approach to meet the needs of students.
This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College. In order to comply with mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based People Services Department. This role is pro rata so the salary is £18,961.56 - £20,240.84 per annum. For any roles that start part way through the academic year, the annual salary will be pro rata to the remaining months.

Any offers of appointment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB), a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory references, Occupational Health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position, as you will be working within Regulated Activity within a specific place (i.e. the College). This role is classed as working within Regulated Activity. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. The appointed person will need to provide practical instruction at relevant industry standards. You will work closely with lecturing teaching staff and this will include providing practical support, instruction, training and supervision to students in practical subjects both on an individual and group basis. The person will also be responsible for the preparation of materials and maintenance of resources for practical tasks. We ensure that provision is learner focused, which leads to academic excellence, high quality learning and an outstanding student experience which reflects the commercial focused curriculum delivery model and contributes to the achievement of the College’s strategic and development plans.
For the successful candidate a conditional offer of work will be made. Our offer of work will be conditional upon a number of mandatory pre-employment checks, to include but not limited to DBS, Barred List check, right to work check, internet search, TRA check (academic posts).
