A leading consultancy in the UK is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer for a 12-month contract, requiring a minimum of 3-4 days on-site in Cheltenham. Candidates must hold the highest UK Government security clearance and have proven experience in infrastructure engineering, networking, and virtualization technologies. This position is inside IR35 and focuses on maintaining compliance with assurance requirements.

Overview

Infrastructure Engineer (Enhanced Cleared) • 12 Months • Minimum of 3-4 days on-site in Cheltenham • Inside IR35 • Apply online only per day

Note: This role requires the highest level of UK Government security clearance. To be eligible, you must be a sole UK national who has lived in the UK for the last 10 years.

My client, a consultancy, seeks an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to deliver and support the implementation of infrastructure solutions across physical and virtual environments. The role requires hands-on engineering of secure, reliable, and scalable systems, ensuring compliance with technical authority processes and security assurance standards. In this role you will advise on the implementation of Infrastructure Architecture design into physical network and infrastructure capabilities in accordance with defined technical authority processes and meeting assurance and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement infrastructure designs across physical and virtual platforms.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot core infrastructure services (servers, storage, networking, cloud environments).
• Ensure security and compliance of infrastructure components in line with assurance requirements and governance.
• Support patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of infrastructure systems.
• Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to maintain service availability.
• Work collaboratively with other engineers and technical teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Document configurations, processes, and support procedures for operational use.
• Contribute to capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
