This is a full-time, permanent position based in Leeds, UK. The role is open to flexible working arrangements but must be performed in the UK. The position reports to the Digital & Technology Group and will support the MHRA’s National Medicines Regulatory framework.

Role Overview

This high‑profile role is responsible for leading, coordinating and supporting digital Information & Data Governance policies, processes, and technology across the Agency. The incumbent will work closely with senior stakeholders and external suppliers to embed a robust governance framework that delivers business value and ensures compliance with GDPR, DPA and other regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Information & Data Governance Framework and collaboration strategies in line with agency business goals.
• Manage the selection, implementation and ongoing operation of governance tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra).
• Design and deliver training and support programmes for employees on governance policies, procedures and technology.
• Lead change‑management initiatives to promote adoption of new tools and processes.
• Promote a culture of collaboration and open communication through governance practices.
• Monitor framework performance, identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
• Engage with senior management and key stakeholders to align governance initiatives with business objectives.
• Contribute to the development and deployment of the MHRA IDGF, covering People, Policy, Organisation, and Technology.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Proven experience designing and implementing Information & Data Governance frameworks, covering People, Policy, Organisation and Technology.
• Hands‑on experience with governance technologies such as Microsoft Purview and Collibra.
• Up to date knowledge of industry best practices and frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
• Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex, technology‑driven initiatives.
• Ability to recognise and articulate the business value of information, and to influence enterprise‑wide governance decisions.
