Data is a key component to the monitoring and success of Research and Innovation (R&I) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). The post-holder will support the transition between and implementation of research management systems, from a technical database perspective and a user support point of view. The role facilitates the migration to ensure the Data Team can continue to produce, develop and promote a range of information and analysis services to meet the reporting requirements of R&I, and Research Delivery Teams can manage the setup, approval, conduct and governance of clinical research at MFT.

Main duties
  • To manage and ensure robust and accurate information management systems are in place to maintain the continued production of reports reflecting the Trust's research status for performance management and reports to the DHSC and other external bodies as required.
  • To work closely with the R&I operational team to ensure continued analytical support to determine future pressures against key deliverables, particularly in relation to external contracts and locally commissioned targets.
  • To conduct analytical work within R&I to assess capacity and demand for research services, identify areas of opportunity, undertake gap and demand analysis and support the production of option appraisals.
  • To ensure continued provision of analysis on issues relating to activity-based research income and its implications for activity deliverables and effects upon RCF and CRN funding.
  • To identify sources of information regarding the Trust, regional and national performance in clinical research, and to design and produce regular reports.
  • To ensure research management systems allow continued analysis and coordination of the North West Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) data flow and amalgamation with local Trust data to ensure accuracy.
  • Contribute to the production of annual reports and R&I reviews.
