Commissioning Engineer – Industrial Refrigeration
Location:
Manchester
Contract:
Full-time, Permanent (40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri incl. lunch break)
Base Salary: Up to £57,400 (flexible for the right candidate)
About the Role
* Join our Industrial Refrigeration (IREF) team, delivering commissioning solutions across the UK & Ireland. You'll lead system start-up and performance checks for major commercial and industrial clients—working with SABROE, Frick, and York OEM systems.
* You’ll work closely with Project Managers to ensure systems are commissioned safely, on time, and to spec, including plant setup, controls, pipework, and refrigerant charging.
Key Responsibilities
* Commission industrial refrigeration systems (HFC, CO₂, Ammonia)
* Align commissioning with project scope, timeline, and safety standards
* Set up refrigeration charges, controls, and equipment
* Act as main on-site technical contact
* Support project managers, suppliers, and contractors
* Complete documentation and performance reporting
* Travel required across UK & Ireland
What You’ll Need
* 5+ years in industrial refrigeration (commissioning or maintenance)
* Strong knowledge of Ammonia, CO₂, HFC systems
* Familiar with pumped overfeed, cascade, and two-stage setups
* Able to read electrical and control schematics
* F-Gas and Ammonia certification
* Knowledge of CDM regulations
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
* Flexible to travel nationally
