Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice

Salary: £40,000–£65,000 DOE | Hours: 4-day week | Full-Time or Part-Time

Looking for your next role in a supportive, independent environment with flexibility, clinical freedom, and a genuinely collaborative team? This well-established small animal practice is seeking one or two dedicated Veterinary Surgeons to join their growing team.

Whether you’re newly qualified and keen to build confidence with strong support, or an experienced vet seeking flexibility and autonomy, this role offers excellent work-life balance and varied caseloads. The practice has great facilities including ultrasound and endoscopy.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Delivering a mix of consultations, routine and advanced procedures
  • Working with a close-knit team of 4.5 vets, 4 RVNs, and a student nurse
  • Managing a varied first-opinion caseload with occasional orthopaedic support from a long-term locum
  • Building client relationships with 15–30 minute consultations
What They’re Looking For
  • An MRCVS-registered vet with strong clinical and communication skills
  • Confidence in sole charge when required (though well-supported)
  • Open to medicine or surgery bias
  • A collaborative team player with a positive, proactive approach
What’s on Offer
  • Salary £40,000–£65,000 depending on experience
  • 4-day working week with flexible patterns (part-time option also available)
  • 1:4 Saturday mornings only (consults, no OOHs – all outsourced)
  • £2,000 CPD allowance with support for development
