Job summary

A UK's leading healthcare provider is seeking an Entry Level Accounts Receivable Officer to manage income processing and liaise with NHS Shared Business Services. The role involves assisting with account management, resolving invoicing issues, and working alongside various stakeholders for timely billing processes. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Accounts Receivable, strong communication skills, and a passion for providing quality healthcare services. This is a contract position lasting 6 months at Band 5 level.

Job description
Position Overview

Fixed Term 6 months, Band 5.

The post holder is responsible to liaise with NHS Shared Business Services (SBS) to ensure income, receivable, and debt collections are processed on a timely manner as stipulated in the contract and comply with current legislation, NHS policy and Trust procedures.

Using skill and knowledge of current Accounts Receivable and debt management they will assist with all aspects of the accounts receivable service to ensure the provision of on-time compliant and accurate processing of customer invoices.

Proposed Interview Date: 21st January 2025.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a primary point of contact and liaison between Trust invoice requisitioners, NHS SBS, and customers for the day-to-day provision of income and receivable service. Act as a point of resolution between NHS SBS and CHS to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Assist in managing the set KPIs (as per SBS contract) and report on these to the Income Liaison Manager in order to address any underperformance with NHS SBS.
  • Manage the central email box facility; review invoices in the holding account, through which invoices are forwarded to the most appropriate staff/budget holder for coding, VAT and processing/inquiry/approval, or returned to NHS SBS.
  • Undertake investigations that are held in the various suspense accounts (such as interface rejection, dummy customer, or sales orders outstanding report) and action when requested to remove the hold on customer invoices in the various suspense accounts.
