Role: ICON Payment Framework (IPF) Developer

You will design, build, and maintain payment processing solutions on Finastra ICON / IPF using Java. You will deliver secure, scalable services that meet regulatory standards and integrate with core banking and payment scheme interfaces.

Key responsibilities

  • Solution development
    • Design and develop IPF components and Java services for payment processing.
    • Extend IPF modules to meet business and regulatory needs.
    • Integrate ICON with upstream/downstream systems, for example core banking, fraud/AML, SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, CHAPS.
  • Technical delivery
    • Work across the full SDLC from requirements to deployment and support.
    • Write clean, well‑documented code aligned to agreed standards.
    • Own unit and integration tests, support UAT, and production releases.
  • Collaboration and support
    • Partner with BAs, Solution Architects, QA, and DevOps to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
    • Provide L3 support for ICON and payment processing incidents.
    • Contribute in code reviews, design discussions, and technical workshops.
  • Compliance and governance
    • Deliver solutions that comply with security, risk, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2, ISO 20022).
    • Maintain technical documentation and share knowledge across teams.

Required skills and experience

  • 5+ years of Java development in financial services.
  • 2+ years hands‑on with ICON Payment Framework (IPF).
  • Strong understanding of payment processing, messaging standards (SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, CHAPS, FPS) and clearing/settlement flows.
  • Spring Boot, REST APIs, JMS, SQL/Oracle.
  • Exposure to CI/CD, Git, Jira, and Agile delivery.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and comfort working in a regulated environment.
