We are recruiting on behalf of PD Ports, one of the UK's leading port operators, for a newly created Hydraulic Technician role within their onshore marine engineering team.

The Role

This position is based at PD Ports' brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art marine facility and sits within a recently established dedicated Hydraulic Department, created to support and future‑prove the marine fleet.

Working closely with the Hydraulic Engineer, the Hydraulic Technician will be involved across the full lifecycle of hydraulic systems, including:

  • Inspection, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems supporting the marine fleet
  • Contributing to projects from initial concept and CAD‑based design, through to build
  • Assembly within a bespoke hydraulic clean room
  • Testing, commissioning, and installation onboard vessels
  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability of critical marine systems

This is a genuinely hands‑on role with strong technical variety and the opportunity to be involved in shaping how the new department develops.

About You

You will be passionate about hydraulic systems and marine engineering, with a practical mindset and an interest in working across design, build, and installation. You should have proven ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and carry out effective fault diagnosis.
