Job Title: HVAC Engineer

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting an HVAC Multi Skilled Engineer to join the team located in Durham.

The successful candidate will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant, equipment, and building services.

Role Summary
  • Identify and manage risks to the client through on-site equipment, including critical spares, improving plant performance, managing environment conditions via BMS, and running all plant and equipment efficiently. Improve and implement preventative maintenance programs.
  • Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a comfortable environment, liaising with the client on reactive and PPM tasks.
  • Fault find on all HVAC plant and equipment, with a focus on Variable Refrigerant Volume air conditioning systems, and handle refrigerants safely with F-Gas qualifications.
  • Support team members in health and safety matters.
  • Support the roles of Energy Champion and Safety Champion for the site.
  • Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
  • Write and follow risk assessments, addressing issues safely and accurately.
  • Complete required documentation according to rules and legislation.
  • Use mobile devices to project and complete work via the CAFM maintenance system.
  • Plan daily work requirements using email and calendars for efficiency.
  • Liaise with onsite supervisors and account managers to manage building service issues.
  • Act as responsible person for the team when required and deputise for the site supervisor during leave or sickness.
  • Work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends without always prior notice.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required.
  • Supervise and manage subcontractors.
  • Participate in an on-call rota for emergency call-outs outside normal hours.
Experience Required
  • A recognized or time-served apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience in HVAC maintenance.
  • Mechanical qualifications to a standard acceptable to City and Guilds.
  • Good multi-skilled ability.
  • Ability to fault find effectively.
  • Ability to supervise contractors.
  • Ability to complete risk assessments and method statements.
  • Understanding of permits and safe systems of work.
  • F-Gas safe handling and refrigerant use.
Desirable
  • Working at height qualification.
  • IPAF / PASMA certification.
  • AP qualifications.
  • BMS system experience.
  • HVAC controls knowledge.
