Job summary

A recruitment agency seeks an experienced HSE Advisor to support safety, health, and environmental systems in Burton upon Trent. This role involves ensuring compliance with legislation, leading improvement initiatives, and conducting audits. The ideal candidate has a NEBOSH Certificate and experience in manufacturing, along with strong communication and analytical skills. This position is offered on a 3-month contract with a focus on enhancing safety culture across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Experience across multi-site operations is desirable.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams is desirable.
  • Engineering background is desirable.
  • NEBOSH Diploma is desirable.
  • Lead Auditor for ISO standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of SHE strategy and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Provide professional SHE guidance across operational areas.
  • Lead and support improvement initiatives.
  • Manage internal and external audit programmes.
  • Coach and support internal auditors for effective audits.
  • Identify and implement safety improvements.
  • Participate in accident investigations and ensure reporting.
  • Compile KPI statistics and monthly reporting.
  • Assist with Safety Committee meetings.
  • Oversee health surveillance processes.
  • Support creation and review of Risk Assessments.
  • Provide SHE training and site inductions.
  • Report hazards and ensure personal safety.

Skills

Strong business and commercial awareness
Experience collecting and presenting KPIs
Experience developing and delivering HSE training
Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 / 18001 / 9001
Excellent understanding of SHE legislation
Strong IT skills, especially Excel
Well organised, able to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication skills
Calm, proactive and adaptable
Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Education

NEBOSH Certificate in Safety, Health & Environment
