About the job

Some key information

  • Flexible working by agreement with the willingness to travel to Taunton or Wellington as required.
  • 25 days annual leave, plus statutory bank holidays.
  • A pivotal role, ensuring operational efficiency of the HRA's Income team by managing rent collections for our 5,600 tenants.
  • Permanent role
  • Salary is £28,598 - £32,061 per annum for 37 hours/week
What will I be doing?

We're working to improve the lives of our tenants here in Somerset - and you'll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Monitoring and maintaining council housing tenants' rent accounts, ensuring payments are collected in a timely and accurate way.
  • Calculate and apply rent charges or refunds due in line with changes in benefits, tenants' circumstances or property changes.
  • Support the annual rent and service charge increase and year-end process.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Have experience of income collection, rent account management or debt recovery in a social housing or similar environment.
  • Have knowledge of the social housing rent standard and our legal duties as a landlord.
  • Have experience of a fast paced, operational environment and strong financial IT skills.
