HR Consultant Health and Safety

Job code: 9693 | Contract type: Permanent | Hours: 37 per week | Salary: £43,822 - £48,227 per annum (Scale K) | Location: County Hall

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and suitably qualified Health and Safety Consultant to join our Health, Safety and Well-being Team. The successful candidate will provide professional in-house leadership, advice and support to internal services and employees, and collaborate with the traded brand to support service delivery to Norfolk County Council.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional advice and guidance on health and safety matters to in‑house services and employees.
  • Develop and deliver health and safety policies and strategy.
  • Prepare directorate‑level reports and support delivery.
  • Develop and deliver specialist H&S training.
  • Act as a focal point for directorates, teams and managers to identify and address safety issues.
  • Undertake proactive monitoring visits and support incident investigation.
  • Support the traded service strategy and delivery, acting as a focal point for traded customers.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant H&S qualification or comparable experience in a similar field with transferable skills.
  • Strong ability to interpret H&S legislation into workable solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience working from first principles.
  • Professional, energetic, and passionate about supporting people to work safely.
