Qualifications

  • Proven HR experience within a manufacturing, construction, engineering, or fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Strong background in employee relations with confidence managing complex cases.
  • Hands‑on recruitment experience, ideally in volume or technical hiring.

  • HR contact for operational teams, providing guidance on a wide range of HR matters.
  • Lead on employee relations, including investigations and disciplinary processes.
  • Drive and deliver the full recruitment lifecycle for various roles.
  • Coach line managers to strengthen leadership capability and HR knowledge.
  • Support organisational change initiatives with effective communication.
  • Analyse HR metrics and recommend data‑led solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best‑practice HR standards.
  • Contribute to ongoing HR projects such as talent development.

HR Business Partner - Permanent

MCS Group is delighted to partner with an exciting private sector organisation, as they look to add an HR Business Partner to their team, in this full‑time, permanent opportunity.

The role

This role will play a critical part in driving a positive employee experience, supporting operational leaders, and delivering effective HR solutions across employee relations, workforce planning, and end‑to‑end recruitment. As a trusted adviser, you will partner closely with managers on site to ensure we attract, retain, and develop the people who keep the organisation a industry leader in their respective field.

The main responsibilities
  • HR contact for operational teams, providing guidance on a wide range of HR matters.
  • Lead on employee relations, including investigations, disciplinary processes, grievances, performance issues, and absence management.
  • Drive and deliver the full recruitment lifecycle for various roles, from screening to workforce planning.
  • Coach line managers to strengthen leadership capability, HR knowledge, and consistency in applying policies.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
  • Analyse HR metrics (turnover, absence, recruitment KPIs) and recommend data‑led solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and best‑practice HR standards.
  • Contribute to ongoing HR projects such as talent development, engagement activities, and culture initiatives.
The ideal candidate
  • Proven HR experience within a manufacturing, construction, engineering, or fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Strong background in employee relations with confidence managing complex cases.
  • Hands‑on recruitment experience, ideally in volume or technical hiring.
  • CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or working towards (desirable).
