Join Our HR Team at The Compleat Food Group – HR Advisor (12-month FTC) in Crewe

Are you ready to step up into an HR Advisor role?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join The Compleat Food Group’s welcoming HR team at our Crewe site on a 12-month fixed term contract.

If you have some previous HR experience (at advisor, assistant, or officer level) and want to grow your career by taking on more responsibility in a fast-paced, hands‑on environment, this could be the perfect next step for you.

What the Role Involves

This role sits at the junior‑advisor level and offers you the chance to develop your HR skills across employee relations, recruitment, and employee engagement — all while supporting managers and colleagues directly on the factory floor.

You’ll be expected to
  • Provide solid support on straightforward employee relations cases – including note‑taking, drafting letters, and preparing case packs
  • Track absences and help managers with absence and probation reviews
  • Assist with consultation processes (e.g., redundancy, change of terms) through note‑taking and admin support
  • Lead HR walkarounds, welfare interviews, and employee engagement activities to support a positive workplace culture
  • Manage recruitment activities for weekly paid roles — from advertising to offer stage
  • Maintain local social media pages linked to recruitment and engagement
  • Back up the site induction trainer and coach managers on routine HR processes (performance reviews, grievance and disciplinary hearings, return to work interviews)
  • Ensure accurate HR data and reporting is maintained across systems
  • Conduct right to work checks and support site audits and worker interviews
Who We’re Looking For
  • Previous HR experience at advisor, officer, or assistant level
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • Experience recruiting in a high‑volume, blue‑collar setting is a bonus
  • Working towards or keen to work towards a CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Proactive, hands‑on approach with a passion for people and engagement
Working Hours & Location
  • Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm (early finish!)
  • Hybrid working option: 1 day from home
  • Based at our Crewe site
