Job summary

A local government authority is seeking a Housing Systems Officer to develop and optimise their NEC Housing System. Housing Systems Officer – Full-time (37 hours) – Permanent – Grade C1 - £34,434 - £37,280 per annum

North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced Housing Systems application specialist to develop and optimise our NEC Housing System. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for enhancing a wide range of NEC Housing modules from Repairs, Rents, Housing Mobile, and Compliance modules. You will drive innovation, ensure system integrity and deliver the Housing and Property ICT Plan for service improvements that benefit our tenants and officers. You will provide system support to users, including creating and maintaining user accounts, ensuring service continuity with day‑to‑day tasks, rent year‑end processing, and working with the software supplier to identify and develop service enhancements.

Job Requirements
  • Well‑developed IT skills with an applications background and good knowledge of MS Office software. Proven experience in NEC Housing would be advantageous or similar systems.
  • Excellent data handling skills, including Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s). SQL advantageous.
  • Experience in project management, to undertake a wide range of varying tasks/projects simultaneously as and when required.
  • To produce management reports for Key Performance Indicators and Statutory Returns.
  • Experience in BACS Direct Debit Regulations would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and support the configuration, maintenance and development of NEC Housing and other systems.
  • Deliver training and documentation to staff to align system capabilities with the service needs to maximise system use.
  • Administer system security, updates and user support when needed.
  • Drive data quality, reporting and compliance with Regulatory Standards.
  • Administer Direct Debits.

  • Excellent standard of written and oral communication and networking skills.
  • Project manage with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to solve complex problems in a practical way.
  • Competent with IT system administration.

You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail, be conscientious when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of Housing and Property Service at a technical level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working, and visiting the district.
