Location: Dudley | Salary: £28,000 per annum | Contract: Permanent | Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
At Serco, we are proud to work on behalf of the Home Office to manage the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC). Our mission is to support vulnerable asylum seekers by providing safe, high-quality accommodation and essential services as they navigate the asylum process. We are looking for a housing officer to join our dedicated team in Dudley. This is a static role, meaning you’ll be based in a specific area, ensuring that properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with AASC standards.
We value people skills just as much as property experience. If you have a strong background in face-to-face roles, excel in a fast-paced environment, and can stay calm under pressure, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. While experience as a Housing Officer is preferred, we also welcome applications from candidates who have worked with vulnerable people. Strong communication skills are essential, as well as confidence in handling challenging situations such as anti-social behaviour, safeguarding concerns, and medical needs. Due to the nature of the role, successful candidates will need to undergo Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) security clearance and a Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check (subject to Home Office approval). To be considered, you must hold a full, clean driving license.
All Serco employees must ensure that their current line manager is aware of their application. For confidential enquiries please contact MyHR. For help with your application please contact 0345 010 4000.
