Job summary

A Local Authority in the UK is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its Property and Housing Asset Management Team. The successful candidate will manage cost control, financial management, and procurement related to the Council’s housing stock. Responsibilities include ensuring budget adherence and compliance with regulations while effectively collaborating with contractors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within housing or property services.
• Excellent understanding of contract administration and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination and management of cost control for housing repairs and investment works.
• Produce and maintain accurate financial information in line with Council standing orders.
• Ensure robust cost control measures are in place and budgets are adhered to across internal and external contracts.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, customers, and stakeholders.
• Support the Housing Procurement Officer with contract procurement activities.
• Forecast cash flow and manage accruals.
• Review contractor valuations promptly.
