A local government authority in the UK is seeking a Housing Advisor to provide comprehensive advice to tenants in the private rented sector and to help implement changes in housing legislation. Responsibilities include managing case loads and carrying out statutory functions to prevent homelessness. From 1st May 2026 the Renters Rights Act will give private rented sector tenants stronger rights, better protections and more security in their homes. We are recruiting for a Housing Advisor to help implement the changes in legislation and specialise in providing comprehensive advice to tenants in private rented sector homes and carry out statutory functions under homelessness legislation to prevent and relieve homelessness.

Experience of working within homelessness legislation and landlord and tenant law. Ability to work on own initiative within a busy service; manage a case load and deal with people. Confidence working on your own initiative within a busy service. (Also an Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.)
