The Housekeeping Assistant Manager will be the driving force for cleanliness, smooth operation, and attention to detail. Areas of knowledge and experience should include proper cleaning techniques and safe handling of equipment and chemicals. Occasionally assists the Rooms Leadership with organizational tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage housekeeping staff by assigning daily tasks, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing training to ensure consistent service excellence
- Conduct regular inspections of public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are upheld. Then will assist with Inn rooms.
- Manage housekeeping inventory by tracking supplies and equipment levels and placing orders as needed
- Act as liaison between the housekeeping department and other hotel departments (e.g., Maintenance, Front Office) to coordinate and resolve operational issues
- Address and resolve guest complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction
- Develop and implement housekeeping schedules and routines that maximize team productivity and efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of room inspections, supply usage, and staff schedules
- Support the Housekeeping Manager in daily departmental operations, staffing, and planning
- Uphold hotel safety and cleanliness standards in all housekeeping procedures
- Other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Leadership
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of successful housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality environment required
- Previous Managerial or team lead experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills with a strong ability to motivate and guide staff
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide directions in a clear, concise and professional manner in both verbal and written form
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English and Spanish (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and leadership to their understanding
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle guest feedback professionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred
Education & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional education or certification in hospitality management preferred
