Responsibilities
  • Homelessness Prevention and Relief: Provide early intervention advice and practical support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness. Create personalised housing plans (PHPs) following the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Work proactively with stakeholders to avert homelessness.
  • Housing Options and Advice: Offer comprehensive housing advice on private rentals, social housing, supported housing, and alternatives. Educate clients on tenant and landlord rights and help them access financial aids like Discretionary Housing Payments.
  • Case Management: Oversee a caseload of applicants, ensuring statutory deadlines are met. Conduct homelessness assessments and make informed legal decisions regarding eligibility and local connection. Maintain detailed case notes in line with GDPR and safeguarding rules.
  • Partnership Working: Collaborate with social services, health services, and other partners. Attend multi-agency meetings and foster joint efforts to support vulnerable households.
  • Temporary Accommodation: Arrange and monitor emergency or temporary accommodations, ensuring they meet statutory standards.
