We are looking for a full-time Home to School Transport Assistant to join the Team. is a busy team responsible for the commissioning, procurement and subsequent contract management of around 500 mainstream school, SEND and PRU transport routes. This is a customer facing role, involving taking phone calls from the public and monitoring email queries. The workload is varied and could see you assessing applications, assisting in the tendering of routes, preparing contract documentation, raising purchase orders, processing clearances for drivers & passenger assistants, issuing driver clearance badges or even getting out of the office and undertaking route inspections.
You should have customer service experience alongside strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge and question whilst maintaining a ‘can do’ attitude with a determination to seek solutions. To undertake this role effectively you will be able to ensure attention to detail and accuracy in your work, even when under pressure, and to be confident to learn to use a range of computer systems (training will be given).
The team are currently based in Parkhouse, Kingmoor Park, Carlisle, CA6 4SJ and there will be a requirement to work from this office for the duration of the on-the- job training, whereafter there will be the opportunity for some hybrid working. There is an emphasis on working regularly from this office where possible, particularly throughout the summer months prior to the commencement of the school academic year.
