Overview

Working in our stores is a fast-paced, varied role where food is our passion. As one of our Home Delivery Drivers, you’ll be the special ingredient that delivers everything our online customers shopped for at Sainsbury’s.

What you’ll be doing

• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps, on-time and in a great condition
• Completing checks to ensure the van is organized, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before getting out onto the road
• Drive safely in a variety of locations and conditions
• Serve customers brilliantly, support with any questions and substitutions, and keep them aware of any delays
• Build knowledge about products, services and promotions to provide recommendations
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed

Eligibility / Qualifications

• You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview, and, if successful, there’ll be a driving assessment when you join us
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Proficiency in driving a large vehicle in different locations, from busy streets to narrow lanes, and delivering to a variety of residential properties
