Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Wakefield

Pay: £95 - £125 per day

Contract: Temp - Long Term

Start Date: ASAP

A fantastic, reputable primary school based in Wakefield is seeking a dedicated and experienced HLTA to join their team of educators.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support learning across the school and may be required to lead classes, plan small group interventions, and deliver pre‑prepared lessons in the teacher's absence.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in education, strong behaviour management, a degree or Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification, and confidence in leading learning in the classroom.

Requirements as a HLTA
  • HLTA qualification (or equivalent required)
  • Experience working as a TA or HLTA in a school setting
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Positive, proactive approach – sense of humour!
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
