HLTA - SEND & EAL Support

Full-time Permanent BA2

Academics is looking for an outstanding HLTA with a specialism in supporting students with SEND and English as an Additional Language (EAL). The successful candidate will lead targeted literacy and EAL interventions, planning, delivering, and assessing small group and one-to-one support to ensure all learners can access and achieve in the curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored literacy interventions (phonics, reading, writing, spelling)
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, reporting to SENCo
  • Provide targeted support for EAL students and promote inclusion
  • Assist with induction, pastoral care, and home support strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to teaching staff
Requirements
  • Experience supporting SEND and EAL learners
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess interventions
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and aspirational learning environment
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
