Full-Time HLTA Opportunity Maidstone, Kent £100 £120 per day Long-Term Contract Start ASAP

Are you a confident HLTA ready to take the lead in the classroom? Are you looking for a long-term opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and forward-thinking school?

Supply Desk are pleased to be working with a well-established and friendly two-form entry primary school in Maidstone, Kent. This Ofsted-rated Good school are currently seeking a reliable and engaging Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis for the remainder of the academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring teacher, an experienced HLTA, or a teaching assistant looking to step up into a classroom leadership role. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering pre-planned lessons and managing whole classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, particularly during teacher absences and training days.

About the Role
  • Lead whole-class teaching across the primary age range during teacher absences or scheduled cover
  • Work across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and maintain a positive, engaging classroom environment
  • Provide support for pupils with SEND where required
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure continuity in learning and uphold high standards
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Be a qualified HLTA, experienced teaching assistant, or aspiring teacher with a strong understanding of primary education
  • Have experience leading whole classes confidently and managing behaviour effectively
  • Be adaptable, organised, and enthusiastic
  • Demonstrate a commitment to supporting all learners, including those with additional needs
  • Hold a valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
  • Be able to provide two professional references
