Overview

Job Title: History teacher

Location: York

Start Date: November 2025

Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed Term (Guaranteed Pay)

Pay: £140 to £251.71 per day

A Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) that is exclusively working within York is looking for an enthusiastic History teacher. The role starts in November 2025 and will run until the Easter break in the first instance.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver inspiring and engaging History lessons for KS3 and KS4.
  • Manage coursework preparation, building up to end-of-year qualifications.
  • Work with a team of specialists and contribute to students’ progress.
  • Be organised, innovative, and draw on students’ interests to ensure progress is made.
  • Deliver lessons that motivate all students to strive for high achievement.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience teaching History to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Hold a recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Ability to work within a school trust, with access to SOW, resources, and CPD opportunities.
