The Role

We are working with a Good-rated secondary school in Birmingham that is seeking a committed and engaging History Teacher from January 2026. This long-term supply role involves teaching History across KS3 and KS4, delivering lessons that encourage critical thinking, debate, and a strong understanding of historical context.

You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing progress, and supporting pupils in preparing for GCSE outcomes. The role offers consistency, full teaching responsibility, and the chance to be part of a supportive Humanities department.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be passionate about History and confident in the classroom. You should be:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Confident teaching History at KS3 and KS4
  • Able to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
  • Strong in classroom and behaviour management
  • Organised, reliable, and committed to student progress
