• Experience producing highway and drainage calculations, preparing sketches, drawings and specifications.

• Report writing and site verification experience.
• Strong communication and consultation skills; confident working with clients, contractors and multi-discipline teams.

• Support process improvement in design services and operational efficiency.

Highways and Drainage Engineer

Oxford- Hybrid

Salary up to £45,000

This is a great opportunity for an experienced civil engineer (highways and drainage design) to join a successful civils practice in Oxfordshire. Key Responsibilities for this Civil Engineer role include:

• Lead the design of highways and drainage schemes, including adoptable standards (e.g., Section 278, Section 38, Section 104).
• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3d or Causeway Flow to produce detailed drainage and highway calculations, sketches and drawings.
• Prepare specifications and documentation in line with CIRIA guidance, BRE digests, BS EN 752 and relevant design standards.
• Conduct site visits to verify that construction aligns with drawings and design intent.
• Maintain commercial awareness around costing, budgets and quotations.
• Support process improvement in design services and operational efficiency within the team.

Essential Experience & Qualifications for this Civil Engineer role:
