Overview

This is a brand new post created due to service expansion. This is an opportunity to join an already exciting and dynamic women and children’s team. The role provides a highly specialist clinical pharmacy service within the Women & Children’s Directorate to ensure high quality, safe, effective, legal and accurate use of medicines within the speciality. The Senior Pharmacist will maintain a regular clinical commitment to both women and paediatric wards (prescribing and neonatal experience would be desirable) and will provide information support for the division and specialist pharmacists, deputising for the Lead Directorate Pharmacist when required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and manage pharmaceutical services to the Women & Children Directorate in accordance with the needs of the Division.
  • Collaborate with senior clinicians to determine medicines-related cost pressures for the Women & Children Directorate.
  • Monitor and review prescribing practice within the Women & Children Directorate and work with clinicians to ensure effective, safe, evidence-based and cost-effective prescribing.
  • Maintain a regular clinical commitment to women and paediatric wards, with neonatal prescribing experience considered desirable.
  • Provide information support for division and specialist pharmacists and deputise for the Lead Directorate Pharmacist when required.
