Overview

We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Informatics Team in a full-time, permanent Band 8a role. The post is based at the Royal London Hospital and involves Trust-wide optimisation of clinical systems to support efficient and high-quality patient care.

The postholder will assist the Lead Pharmacist, Informatics with the development and optimisation of electronic prescribing within the Trust, in conjunction with the Head of IT Projects and the EPR team. They will support the implementation of new digital medicines initiatives and assist the pharmacy team in developing, validating and maintaining the wider pharmacy digital systems operated by the department. They will provide assurance of the use of electronic medicines management systems across the Trust, working with the Trust’s CCIO and CNIO.

Key responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, security of access, system availability and data accuracy, meeting the requirements of the Trust, its patients and clinical staff. The job description is not intended to be exhaustive and duties may be altered in light of changing circumstances after consultation with the post-holder. The post holder may be required to work across the Trust at any time, which may entail travel and working at different hospitals.
