Job description
Overview

We are looking for an exceptional band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our team at Paddock Special School (Secondary site). Paddock School is an outstanding special school supporting pupils aged 4-19 years with severe learning difficulties, complex communication needs and/or ASD. The role focuses on delivering integrated therapy within classrooms and working closely with the education team to support and review children in accessing their learning and participating in school occupations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-standard occupational therapy assessment, treatment and advice to children and young people accessing the school, and to their families as outlined in Education, Health and Care plans.
  • Lead as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the paediatric therapy service based at Paddock Secondary School, and provide supervision and leadership as required.
  • Deliver integrated therapy in collaboration with on-site speech and language therapists and teaching colleagues, and collaborate with psychologists, psychotherapists, medical professionals and social workers from the Local Authority and NHS.
  • Support children in accessing the curriculum and participating in school occupations, reviewing progress and adapting interventions accordingly.
  • Participate in regular supervision and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Band 7 Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in paediatric therapy, especially within special school settings and integrated therapy models.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to provide leadership within the service.
