Job description
Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced physiotherapist with a passion for oncology and haematology to join our established inpatient team. The successful applicant should demonstrate a strong foundation in rehabilitation skills, considering the impact and consequences of cancer and its treatments, to provide individualised, patient centred, evidence based practice to support patients with their inpatient rehabilitation and guide discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical and leadership role collaborating closely with a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to lead the team covering inpatient oncology, haematology and infectious diseases wards.
  • Promote service improvement and innovation in physiotherapy.
  • Lead in-service training and support the development of junior staff and students.
  • Participate and lead in quality improvement and service improvement projects.
  • Receive regular supervision and develop existing skills and lead the way in new practice.
  • Communicate and work effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
Working Conditions

This post is part of an enhanced weekend working service and the post holder will be expected to work night on calls. It is a fixed term post until 31st March 2027, but there may be opportunities for a substantive role in the future.
