Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - SEN School

Location: Cambridge, UK

About the Role: Simply Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a specialist SEN school in Cambridgeshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties.

You will be working alongside teaching staff to plan, deliver, and assess targeted interventions, as well as supporting small groups and individual pupils across the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities
  • Work with pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis
  • Promote positive behaviour and learning engagement
  • Adapt resources and materials to meet individual needs
  • Liaise with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure pupil progress
  • Cover lessons when required in the absence of the teacher
Requirements
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working in an SEN setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
