In this role you'll start as a Loader and we'll fund your training to become a qualified HGV driver, including obtaining a HGV medical and licence, theory sessions, self study and practical driver training days; all with our continued support.

Whilst a physically demanding role, you won't be doing this alone. As part of a tight knit team you'll be working alongside colleagues to make a positive impact everyday within your community.

As you progress through the programme, your pay does too. Once you've passed and become qualified you'll take on your new role as a HGV Class 2 Driver.

  • 20 days of annual leave
  • Refer a driver to us once you've joined and earn £1000
  • Access to our people's pension scheme
  • Free physiotherapy service
  • Discounts on everything from groceries to well known retailers
  • Access to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to
  • 24 hour access to a virtual GP, 365 days a year, for you and family members in your household
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential
  • Free CPC renewals
  • Free onsite parking
What you'll be doing

In your starting role as a loader you'll be:

  • Collecting recycling and domestic waste from planned locations and loading this into the vehicle.
  • Working closely with our drivers and will be able to learn from them as you work.

Once qualified, you'll be:

  • Driving to locations and supporting your crew with loading duties.
  • Completing daily checks of the vehicle and using the onboard technology to complete work notes.
  • Compliant to all traffic laws and legislation and ensure your work environment is safe and clean at all times.
What we're looking for

An up to date driving licence, the rest we will upskill you on and teach you whilst working. Giving our people the chance to progress is key.

Essential
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work well as a team.
  • Desire to train as a HGV Class 2 Driver and join our Veolia Team.
