Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications include City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicles quickly using diagnostic tools.
  • Work independently to maintain and repair vehicles.
  • Carry out inspections (MOT, tacho, etc.).
  • Mentor less experienced technicians.

Overview

Job Title: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

  • Salary: £55,285- £63,268 (nights), £19.40ph x 1.5 overtime (Days)
  • Shift: Monday - Thursday 19:00 - 07:00 (46hrs); Tuesday - Friday 19:00 - 07:00 (46hrs) rotating two weekly (nights); Dayshift 40hrs/week Monday - Friday 06:30 - 15:00; weekly rotation to 10:00 - 18:30 (half day Saturday AM optional); £19.40/hr x1.5 >40hrs

We are looking for a HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter to join our client, a leading UK dealership.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose vehicles quickly and accurately using diagnostic tools and select the appropriate repair techniques.
  • Work independently to maintain and repair vehicles and components.
  • Carry out a range of inspections (MOT, tacho, etc.).
  • Provide support and daily mentoring for less experienced technicians.
  • Carry out final checks on completed work.
Qualifications
  • Time-served HGV Technician or equivalent qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Extensive experience in repairs and maintenance on trucks, components and related vehicles
  • Familiarization with developments in the automotive industry
  • Valid Driving License Class 2
