• Perform brake testing at every inspection.

A logistics and distribution company based on the outskirts of Leeds is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their team working full time.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a mixed fleet of rigid and articulated HGV vehicles and trailers to the highest standards in line with DVSA requirements.
• Vehicle and trailer inspections
• MOT preparation to DVSA standards
• Brake testing at every inspection
• Fault finding and repairs
• Use of diagnostic equipment

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Qualification in City & Guilds HGV Part 1, 2 & 3 or NVQ Level E or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years experience as an HGV mechanic (post qualification)
• Large goods vehicle experience essential
• Flexible approach to work
• Health & Safety awareness
• Excellent time keeping
• HGV license - Class 1

Desirable

• IRTEC registered for both traction and trailers

Employment Details

This is a full-time permanent position, paying an annual salary up to £60,000 per annum depending upon experience.

Hours of work are Monday – Friday, 7am – 4pm, with an element of flexibility.
