Job summary

A well established transport and logistics organisation is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join its depot operations team in Greater London. You will be responsible for ensuring the fleet's roadworthiness and safety by conducting maintenance, repairs, and inspections. The position offers a salary of £52,000-£54,600, alternating shift patterns, and opportunities for overtime. This is a permanent role within a supportive management structure that emphasizes quality work and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing HGV fleets.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diagnostics, electrical systems, and general vehicle maintenance.
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 advantageous but not essential).

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on HGV vehicles.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections, ensuring full roadworthiness.
  • Diagnose and rectify defects identified through inspections and daily vehicle checks.
  • Complete commissioning and decommissioning activities, including basic electrical installations where required.
  • Accurately complete all statutory, compliance, and internal maintenance documentation.

This is a permanent opportunity offering a strong basic salary, structured shift pattern, and the option to increase earnings through Saturday overtime.

The HGV Technician will play a key role in ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest standards of roadworthiness, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The role of the HGV Technician will include
  • Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on HGV vehicles.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections, ensuring full roadworthiness.
