Qualifications

  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues and propose suitable solutions.
  • Basic knowledge in using GDS and Impact systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostics and technical diagnosis for repairs.
  • Specify repair solutions for quotes and works orders.
  • Ensure compliance with time recording procedures.

Skills

Experience as a technician in Heavy Goods Vehicle industry
Knowledge of VOSA requirements and MOT testers manual
Understanding of Operators Licence Laws
Application of Standard Times
Knowledge of workshop KPIs
Technical product knowledge

Education

HGV Technician City and Guilds, NVQ 3 or equivalent

Role: HGV Technician - Rotating shifts

What you will earn

Basic package of £44,720 with an overtime rate of up to £32.25 (time and half).

Pay and shifts: Up to £21.50 per hour for a 40 hour basic week. This role also offers the opportunity to gain an IRTEC, IVR and a Heavy Goods Licence. With our own dedicated RTC training centre, you will have ongoing refresher training including electromobility courses.

Location: Dealership in Felixstowe, working within our newly built depot.

Main Duties
  • Provide diagnostic and technical diagnosis and accurately specify repair solutions
  • Specify repair solutions to facilitate the production of quotes / works orders
  • Specify repair solutions for defects / minor defects found during service or other planned work
  • Ensure time recording procedures are complied with including correct use of codes
  • Ensure timely hand over of completed, fully specified jobs to CSR for invoicing
  • Carry out effective shift hand over including any outstanding repair order & customer issues
Shifts

Working Earlies and Lates over a 40 hour week as follows:

  • 0700 to 1530 and 1530 to 00.00 (midnight) with a 30 min break
  • Sat morning shift working as and when required paid at time and a half
What you can bring to us
  • Significant experience of working as a technician within the Heavy Goods Vehicle industry
  • Good knowledge of VOSA requirements and MOT testers manual
  • An understanding of Operators Licence Laws and Regulations
  • The application of Standard Times
  • Knowledge of workshop KPI’s
  • Technical product knowledge
Requirements
  • HGV Technician City and Guilds, NVQ 3 or equivalent
  • To be able to effectively communicate at all levels both written and verbally
  • To be able to understand & analyse technical issues & propose appropriate solutions
  • To be able to operate GDS and Impact systems, specific to the process stages
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
