Job description

Overview

Mpeople Recruitment is recruiting a qualified HGV (Class 1) Driver to join a reputable business based in Oldham on a full-time, permanent basis.

• Location: Oldham (OL8), covering the whole of the UK
• Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum plus overtime paid at time and a half, and allowances for overnight stays
• Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Benefits: Extra day off for your birthday, annual leave increasing with service, early finishes on Fridays and various other employee benefits

Responsibilities

• Travelling throughout the UK in an HGV or large van to deliver small to medium sized electric vehicles to customers
• Working closely with the sales team to plan and manage routes for customer deliveries based on locations and requirements
• Unloading the truck/van and providing the customer with a brief demonstration of how the product/vehicle works upon arrival
• Loading and unloading the truck/van at the Oldham depot
• Liaising with internal departments to ensure customer expectations and deadlines are met, and notifying them of any problems that may affect delivery schedules

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 / C+E licence (essential)
• FLT licence (essential)
• Must be willing to stay throughout the UK overnight 2-3 nights a week at a minimum
• Good people skills to deal with customers face to face and conduct customer demonstrations upon delivery
• Strong communication skills to keep in touch with office-based staff while not based in the office
• Self‑motivated and organized
