Overview

Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Driver (Class II) to join Nottingham City Council on a short term temporary contract. This role involves operating heavy goods vehicles safely and efficiently, leading a small crew, and ensuring waste and cleansing services are delivered to a high standard across the city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely drive and operate HGV Class II vehicles, carrying out daily safety checks and basic maintenance
  • Lead and manage a small crew, allocating tasks and monitoring performance on routes
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and road safety requirements at all times
  • Accurately record service delivery and incidents using in-cab technology
  • Engage positively with members of the public and represent the Council professionally
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service
Requirements
  • Valid Category C (HGV Class II) licence and Driver Qualification Card (CPC) - essential
  • Experience conducting vehicle safety checks and maintaining legal roadworthiness
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and traffic awareness
  • Ability to lead, instruct, and support a small operational crew
  • Flexible and physically fit, able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and in all weather conditions
