Overview

HGV Class 1 Driver.

Salary: GBP41,726.75 pa, based on a 46.25 contracted week.

Benefits: Paid Overtime at 1.5 and occasional Saturdays at double time. Free Parking, Pension and Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Collect, deliver and exchange RO-RO bins, or Wag & drag bulk work travelling between our clients and our 3 operational sites
• Follow driving routes provided by our Transport Department
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects to the Transport Manager immediately
• Complete all paperwork accurately in a timely manner
• Park all vehicles at the end of every day
• Keep the cab of the lorry clean and tidy
• Maintain regular contact with the transport manager, yard managers and weighbridge operators at each site

Attributes and Experience

• Class 1 Driving Licence (Minimum 2 years)
• Must hold a Driver CPC Licence
• RO-RO (or Wagon & Drag) experience - Training will be given to drivers showing interest and aptitude
• You must have good problem-solving skills
• Effective communication, both orally and in writing, is essential
• You will also have an excellent phone manner
• You must always look presentable as the role is customer facing
• Fluent English is required
