Healthcare Support Worker

Our Healthcare Support Workers are at the heart of our multidisciplinary teams who support our patients by assisting our Registered Nurses in planning, delivering and evaluating care. This will require you to:

  • be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, both verbally and in writing;

The Healthcare Support Worker role is varied and busy as you will be working a variety of shifts including long days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

It is essential that within your application you are able to demonstrate an understanding of the role and responsibilities, able to prove how you develop and maintain positive working relationships, along with evidencing how you would demonstrate our Trust values.

You must be a minimum of 18 years old to apply for the role and be willing to work a minimum of 23 hours per week. You must be able to commit to the standard shift pattern for this role which includes long days, nights, weekend and bank holidays.

Training & Qualifications
  • IT Literate
  • Confirmation of Secondary Education - GCSE grades (Minimum requirements: 1-3 or D‑G (Department for Education: June 2017)) or equivalent knowledge gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience
  • ESOL Level 2 or equivalent (if English not first language). Or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent or above in Health or Health and Social Care or working towards an award. Or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience.
  • GCSE Standard Pass Grades (GCSE grades 4 and above or A‑C only - Department for Education: June 2017)
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or above in Health or Health and Social Care or working towards an award
Experience & Knowledge
  • Able to demonstrate current knowledge and identify own learning needs
