Overview

Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Offender Health Care Group working at HMP Lincoln. HMP Lincoln is a Category B men's prison in Lincolnshire. The prison is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service.

Responsibilities
  • As part of a small team, provide a holistic package of care to a vulnerable group of men, ensuring immediate healthcare concerns are managed.
  • Ensure prescribed medications are continued and a safe discharge is facilitated.
  • Offer emotional support to this group of men at an uncertain time.
  • Work closely with the nursing team to support patients accessing Healthcare at HMP Lincoln.
  • Contribute to a wide variety of care including initial assessment/screening for new patients, clinical triage, emergency response, and care of minor illness and injuries.
  • Play an active role in providing a positive healthcare experience to patients who may have poorer health outcomes.
  • Support patients to become more aware of their own health needs and offer health promotion advice and guidance.
