A regional healthcare provider in Woodside is seeking a committed Health Care Assistant for its Medical Same Day Emergency Care team. The role involves providing essential care to patients, supporting registered nurses, and recording clinical observations. Applicants must have at least two years of NHS experience as a Health Care Assistant. This position offers opportunities for additional hours as needed.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 3 Health Care Assistant to join our Medical Same Day Emergency Care team. SDEC is a department whereby patients with some medical concerns can be assessed, diagnosed and discharged safely in the same day. We require a committed and reliable health care assistant to support this service. The service is fast faced, delivering high quality care to adult medical patients who have presented to the hospital as an emergency.
Your role will be to support the Registered Nurse provide care and you will be integral to the flow of patients through the department. In return we will provide any work specific training and you will be supported by the senior nursing team within the department.
As you will be expected to deal with staff, patients and relatives on a daily basis as well as recording routine clinical observations, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skill both written and verbal. You will possess good organisational skills and be able to contribute to the development of flexible working arrangements within the team.
You will have the opportunity to work additional hours at times of service need.
We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
