Overview

The Priory Hospital Nottingham is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role.

Pay rate: £12.90 phr

Shifts: Day/Night shifts: 07:30 - 20:00 and 19:30 - 08:00 on a rota basis with weekends included.

The Priory Hospital Nottingham is conveniently located near the centre of Nottingham, ensuring easy access by train, bus or car. Priory Hospital Nottingham is an acute service, providing support for 14 adults who require acute mental health emergency care. Our acute services offer round-the-clock assistance in times of emergencies. Our specialist inpatient teams are committed to providing the highest quality of care, supporting patients with a wide range of mental health conditions in a safe and highly therapeutic environment.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

  • Support our residents with in-house activities and hobbies
  • Providing support to achieve everyday goals including personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting
  • Support with mealtimes
  • Manage some behaviours that challenge
  • Assistant and support to attend medical appointments
  • Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff
  • Provide emotional support to individuals and their families
  • Light housekeeping duties to include vacuuming, sweeping and changing of bed clothes (when required)
  • Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual
  • Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
  • Analyse an individual’s needs and draw up a focused support plan
What you’ll bring to the role
